“Heat up: the Roman Summer begins” is the motto for the summer events in the Eternal City. Exhibitions, public performances, concerts, shows: over 50 events from June 21 to September 30, all over the city.
The inauguration on June 21, with a free concert of Santa Cecilia’s National Academy Orchestra and Choir. More free concerts on June 26, with Mozart’s Opera “Là ci darem la mano”, at Villa Torlonia’s Theatre, and June 27, Irene Grandi and Emilie Simon in concert at Piazza Farnese. 30 other nights of music at the Auditorium in via Pietro de Coubertin, with English stars of Rock and Pop, like Jeff Beck, Massive Attack, Rufus Wainwright, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.
For those who love movies, there will be the 34th edition of the Fantafestival (International exhibit of fantasy and sci-fi movies), the event “Cinema under the stars”, the best movies of the period for free, and “Cinema’s Island” on the Tiber Island, with the presence of famous Italian actors and directors.
Children will find a special free program with games and paths at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, at Tecnotown and at Parco degli Scipioni; theatrical performances in unusual locations, and reading appointments.
There are programmed also dance moments, like Musicals, workshops and Festivals, and sports appointments, inspired to Grecian Olympic games.
