From June 12 to August 31, 2014 the event “Along the Tiber… Rome” will enlighten roman summer nights, every day from 7 pm. This year is at its 12th edition, organized by the cultural association La Vela D’Oro. From culture to music, from literature to solidarity, an open air art gallery alongside the Tiber river is set up from Ponte Sublicio to Ponte Sisto. There will be expositions, exhibitions, contests, meetings, workshops, with free admission.
You can find, many music events, like the Cantagiro, exhibitions of Roman Schools of Music, Pop and Jazz exhibitions; Alba Gonzales’ sculptures; a writing contest in roman dialect, entitled to the songwriter Franco Califano; the “Tevere Teatro festival”, a theater competition of Roman young acting companies; an exposition on the story of Soccer’s World Cup. There will be seminars, courses and conferences on arguments of social interest like disability, animals defense, abortion, violence, usury, and on artistic and cultural arguments like comics and satire. Every day Franciscans will be there to give food for thought and real food for lunch for 100 needy people every Sunday.
A main event of this year edition, will be the exhibit “Maniphesta RomaBruciAncora” (will Rome burn again), commemorating the famous fire ascribed to the Roman Emperor Nero: artists will portray the concept of a creative fire, representing Rome, its roots and its future.
